OneOf Launches Initiative to Support Causes Addressing the Threat of Climate Change
OneOf, the Green NFT platform built for the music community backed by music legend Quincy Jones, has been selected as the preferred NFT partner of the Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Alliance, which works with global partner United Nations Human Rights to advocate for urgent action to protect the rights of people around the world suffering from the devastating effects of climate change.
In support of the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals and The Paris Agreement, OneOf will work with Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Alliance to donate a portion of its platform revenue to United Nations Human Rights, in support of its global programs on climate change. Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Alliance, an initiative created by David Clark Cause, is working with policymakers, NGOs, corporations, academic institutions, scientists, journalists, and the entertainment community to fast-track advocacy and awareness-building events, including the Right Here, Right Now Climate Summit and Awards Concert, which supports United Nations Human Rights programs on climate change.
Each artist that partners with the OneOf Green NFT platform will also have the option to design one or more NFTs to directly benefit Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Alliance and its partner United Nations Human Rights for their climate programs.
“Building environmentally sustainable technology is a fundamental pillar of the OneOf company ethos. We’re thrilled to be selected as the preferred partner of the Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Alliance,” said Lin Dai, CEO and CoFounder of OneOf, “built on the Tezos blockchain, OneOf technology uses over 2 million times less energy than Ethereum. Minting an NFT on OneOf takes the energy equivalent of sending out a tweet, compared to a devastatingly wasteful use of 3.6 days of average household electricity on most platforms built on Ethereum.”
“OneOf’s eco-conscious approach and revolutionary technology in blockchain and NFTs has the power to connect hundreds of millions of music fans globally. This collaboration provides a unique opportunity for artists and fans alike to become active participants in fostering human rights and climate change initiatives by connecting through music, art, and experiences,” said David Clark, CEO of David Clark Cause and Creator of Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Alliance, “We are thrilled that OneOf has become the preferred NFT partner of Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Alliance, and it is such an honor to have the support of Quincy Jones whose creativity, vision, and life-long dedication to human rights continues to inspire and make a difference.”
